The ORMC Wound Healing Center offers state-of-the-art wound care using advanced therapies to help the body's natural healing process function more efficiently.
A patient that has not begun to heal in four weeks, or is not completely healed in six weeks may benefit from the specialized wound care offered at the Wound Healing Center. The Center's doctors and clinical staff are skilled in the latest therapeutic methods in wound management using a focused, evidence-based approach to the treatment of chronic wounds. This approach addresses the many conditions and co-morbidities impacting wound healing requiring the intervention of multiple healthcare disciplines applying the appropriate therapy at the proper time.
Likely candidates for such specialized care and treatment are those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and other chronic, non-healing wounds. The Center also offers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), which is a powerful adjunctive therapy, reimbursed by Medicare and most commercial insurance, which is indicated for 10-15% of patients with chronic wounds.
The center is located at 679 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, directly across from Oconee Regional Medical Center.
