A significant improvement to the process in posting positions at Oconee Regional Medical Center has now been implemented. For hospital directors and managers, the creating of a position, posting the position, tracking the applicants, and hiring process has now gone electronic. An application called Position Manager is now being used that consolidates all of these functions into one web-based hiring process. All applications for employment will now be made electronically from any computer connected to the Internet.

    On September 17th, the new Position Manager application was activated through the ORMC website. Candidates can now view more information about a selected position and track their job application. Pre-qualifying questions are being asked of potential applicants to improve the screening process and save the applicants’ time. Hiring managers, in conjunction with Human Resources, will be able to create a position requisition, seek approval, post a job, screen candidates, and process the hiring paperwork all through any computer connected to the Internet. ORMC directors and managers should find this process much easier to complete and monitor; as should applicants.


    Potential applicants looking for employment can perform searches based on key words. They can create a username and password with which they log in to Position Manager. The information they supply will be maintained, making it easier to apply for other positions over time. They might also create search agents that enables the system to notify them, via email, of openings in specific categories as they are posted, eliminating their need to continually check the site for new postings. Pre-qualifying questions keep them from wasting time applying for a position for which the individual doesn’t qualify. Once they apply for an open position the system will, via email again or once logged on, keep them informed of various milestones throughout the process. If hired, it will assist in providing the necessary forms that process new employees through Human Resources.
