J. Alan Horton, FACHE, vice president/chief operating officer at Oconee Regional Medical Center, Inc. recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders.

    He joined the Senior Management team at ORMC in September 2004 and is responsible for the day to day administration of the hospital. He also oversees all ancillary, surgical, support, safety and Rehab Services departments, as well as all facility improvements/expansions.

    Horton earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University in 1974 and his Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University in 1978.

    With over 33 years of experience in healthcare management, Horton previously held positions as director of Special Services at Northeast Georgia Health System, vice president of Facilities and Support Services at Southern Regional Health System, Inc., and most recently as an associate administrator of Emory Hospitals.
